Struct Type

Source
pub struct Type(/* private fields */);
Expand description

Specification of communication semantics on a socket.

This is a newtype wrapper around an integer which provides a nicer API in addition to an injection point for documentation. Convenience constants such as Type::STREAM, Type::DGRAM, etc, are provided to avoid reaching into libc for various constants.

This type is freely interconvertible with C’s int type, however, if a raw value needs to be provided.

Implementations§

Source§

impl Type

Unix only API.

Source

pub const fn nonblocking(self) -> Type

Available on crate feature all and (Android or DragonFly BSD or FreeBSD or Fuchsia or illumos or Linux or NetBSD or OpenBSD) only.

Set SOCK_NONBLOCK on the Type.

Source

pub const fn cloexec(self) -> Type

Available on crate feature all and (Android or DragonFly BSD or FreeBSD or Fuchsia or target_os="hurd" or illumos or Linux or NetBSD or OpenBSD or Redox or Solaris) only.

Set SOCK_CLOEXEC on the Type.

Source§

impl Type

Source

pub const STREAM: Type = _

Type corresponding to SOCK_STREAM.

Used for protocols such as TCP.

Source

pub const DGRAM: Type = _

Type corresponding to SOCK_DGRAM.

Used for protocols such as UDP.

Source

pub const DCCP: Type = _

Available on crate feature all and Linux only.

Type corresponding to SOCK_DCCP.

Used for the DCCP protocol.

Source

pub const SEQPACKET: Type = _

Available on crate feature all and non-target_os="espidf" only.

Type corresponding to SOCK_SEQPACKET.

Source

pub const RAW: Type = _

Available on crate feature all and neither Redox nor target_os="espidf" only.

Type corresponding to SOCK_RAW.

Layout§

Note: Most layout information is completely unstable and may even differ between compilations. The only exception is types with certain repr(...) attributes. Please see the Rust Reference's “Type Layout” chapter for details on type layout guarantees.
